Dana's Story
When I look back and reflect on my dreams and aspirations as my younger self, I never thought I would be working in the tech industry. Growing up in Jordan, I initially pursued Genetics Engineering as my field of study, driven by my fascination with the field. However, when my family and I moved to Canada, I had to pivot to technology. This was a challenging transition, but I was determined to succeed in this new field.
I come from a family of strong and determined women who have always been my role models and inspiration when it comes to determination, leadership, selfless actions that are based on the intent of being of service or value to others. These values served as the core and what made me fall in love with tech. The ability to impact, service, and create value as customers enable and transform through technology is how I connected my personal values to my professional role as a Senior Director, Client Success & Service Delivery.
I graduated and started my career at a very young age, which posed several challenges and opportunities as a woman in tech. I always chose to focus on the opportunities, and how I can grow and influence change. This focus allowed me to take on leadership roles progressively and gave me the space to do what I love the most, servicing others.
As a woman in the tech industry, I am acutely aware of the underrepresentation of women in leadership positions. I believe that greater diversity is key to innovation and success, and it's important to have more women in leadership positions. I hope that my story can inspire other women to pursue careers in technology with confidence in their ability to excel in leadership roles. With determination and hard work, we can break down the barriers and create a more inclusive and diverse tech industry.
